Created as part of the “Under The Sea” collection of work that examines the consequences of rising sea levels and how my work might physically be transformed if left on the ocean bed for many year. This piece has been hand coiled around a sculpted frame resulting in the inside having texture that resembles local rock formations.
The piece has been finished in a black gloss glaze with blue and aventurine overlay. Inside the textured surface has iron, copper, black and aventurine glazing.
The piece was completed in March 2020 and has a full signature on the base along with Richard’s trademark initials.
