This piece, completed in April 2023, is part of the “Under the Sea” collection of work that examines the influence of rising sea levels and coastal erosion along the Pembrokeshire Coast.
Created in earthenware clay the fluted vessel and domed lid is finished with beautiful feathered shades of turquoise and blues that ripple and cascade onto deep aventurine and black tones. The domed lid has coastal inspired sculptural embellishments fused with green, aventurine and turquoise glazes. During the final firing platinum detailing has been added to the rim of the vessel.
This is a sculptural piece of work and not functional. Signed, dated and initialled on the base. Initialled on the underside of the lid.
