Turquoise and inlaid black clay Sea Globe

Glaze: Turquoise, Platinum
Sculptural / Functional
Fine bone china Sea Globes are handmade in my studio here on the Pembrokeshire coast. Their design stems from the Pembrokeshire coast where I live and work, capturing the essence of the dramatic landscape and ever changing scenery we experience here throughout the year.
Inlaid with black clay around the circumference of the globe, this piece has been inspired by my walk between the studio and gallery along the Pembrokeshire coast where the volcanic rock rises above the sand. The piece is finished with a turquoise glazing with small pockets of blue and aventurine detailing and platinum lustre finish on the rim.
