Oriental blue, cobalt and aventurine Sea Globe
Clay: Fine bone china
Technique: Slip cast
Glaze: Turquoise, cobalt blue, aventurine, gold
Sculptural / Functional
This beautiful fine bone china Sea Globe has a stunning oriental blue, with cascading linear marks of cobalt blue and clouds of aventurine fused together and fired at a high temperature creating a beautiful movement to the globe. During the final firing gold detailing has been applied to the rim.
Fine bone china Sea Globes are handmade in my studio here on the Pembrokeshire coast. Their design stems from the Pembrokeshire coast where I live and work, capturing the essence of the dramatic landscape and ever changing scenery we experience here throughout the year.
Please note this glaze, like most studio pottery glazes, will craze over time.
